Compared to 14k gold, 18k gold is slightly softer and more prone to scratches. It is still suitable for everyday wear but requires more care to maintain its luster. Avoid exposing 18k gold jewelry to harsh chemicals, as this can weaken the metal structure. While it is generally safe to wear in the shower, removing 18k gold pieces during cleaning or contact with chemicals is recommended.
